Find Yourself, Be Yourself, Reveal Yourself
The Palace Theater’s Find Yourself, Be Yourself, Reveal Yourself program, is an after-school program for high school students that utilizes the social commentary and performance art concept portrayed in the Blue Man Group stage show to enhance student’s language arts curriculum, promote theater appreciation and cultivate a "youth voice" regarding relevant social issues.
Find Yourself, Be Yourself, Reveal Yourself provides students with a unique opportunity to demonstrate active leadership by asking them to create and implement a social awareness project that emphasizes each student’s unique ability to positively impact their community.
Participating students will:
- Take part in a series of interactive, comprehensive workshops that integrate academic curriculum in Social Studies, Language Arts, Current Events, and the Performing Arts.
- Attend a weeknight performance of the Blue Man Group, after which they will participate in a “talk back” with the cast to discuss the production’s messages and social relevance
- Create and implement an original and creative social awareness project inspired by social issues addressed throughout the program (ie; peer pressure, conformity, self expression).
- Attend a public culminating event at the Palace during which they will present their learning process, artwork, and social projects in front of an audience of their peers, educators, and family members.
